Iberdrola Renewables is seeking a Senior East Energy Trader in Portland, Oregon.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities include: <\/p>\n

* Trade physical and financial power and natural gas in the eastern power markets, with a focus on hedging and optimizing Iberdrola Renewables’ assets.
* Manage individual proprietary trading book
* Develop and manage hedging strategies for corporate assets
* Evaluate market conditions to optimize corporate asset book in the term markets
* Gathering and review of fundamental data to assist in the optimization of wind and other assets
* Assist Business Development, Structuring and Origination with deal evaluation
* Adhere to effective internal controls<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/p>\n

* Minimum of 5 years of East power trading experience. (Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower level.)
* Familiarity with LIM or other price data warehouse.
* Ability to self-motivate and create opportunities
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to solve problems and explain the ideas that underlie them.
* Quick learning curve with the ability to receive, process, and transact on information.
* Proven ability to understand market conditions and to identify arbitrage opportunities.
* PC proficiency, especially with Excel, and experience with automated tools to support trading activity. <\/p>\n

Preference may be given to candidates with the following: <\/p>\n

* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Engineering<\/p>\n
