UBS Investment Bank is seeking a Senior Manager to manage part of the Equity Derivative Business Unit Control team. The team is responsible for:
- Verifying, analyzing and reporting daily P&L, attribution and balance sheet
- Valuation of OTC options, structured trades, ETD and listed products
- Accounting for all aspects of the equity derivative business
- Ad hoc projects driven by BUC and the equity business
An individual in this role will be responsible for managing all accounting/control aspects for the Equity Derivatives Business as part of the newly implemented Target Operating Model. These responsibilities include:
- Preparation, analysis and reporting of daily P&L and daily/monthly commentary as required.
- This business transacts in multiple currencies so analysis of currency exposure is required
- Month end Balance Sheet close/sign off
- Interaction with Business Mgmt, Traders, Operations, IT, Tax, Regulatory, Accounting, Reporting and Risk Management and building relationships with these groups.
- Recommending ways to improve information flow, P&L reporting, and value to management is key.
Monthly closing tasks include:
- Review of Ops reconciliations to ensure material items are appropriately adjusted in the books and records.
- Review and signoff of business unit balance sheets.
- SOX 404 Control Standards
- Ad hoc requests and analysis.
The business is fast moving and is growing in terms of size and complexity, thus requiring a proactive, dynamic, innovative and motivated individual to join the team and to quickly take on the above responsibilities. To add maximum value, the role will also require an understanding of and contribution to the other areas within the wider BUC/Finance group.
