Basic Function: Brokerage Trader
Responsible for executing customer-directed securities purchase and sale transactions, while retaining and enhancing customer relationships.
This position is critical to fulfill the daily business requirements of clients of M&T Securities. It provides entry and execution of time sensitive securities transactions initiated by the client, while also providing the client with up-to-the minute accurate securities market information. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying critical situations to eliminate unneeded exposure to market losses.
Responsibilities:
* Function in varying capacities as customer flows dictate, including the execution of Brokerage securities trades for customers and M&T Securities Financial Consultants. Handle ESOP transactions for M&T employees and other companies.
* Apprise customers of current market conditions, newsworthy information and inform them of up-to-the-minute quotes.
* Understand and communicate status of customer accounts, outstanding orders and report any trade executions in a timely manner.
* Solicit new customers for investment banking business. Cross-sell other investment products and services.
* Analyze customer situation determining best sales and product approach.
* Assist customers with completion of documentation and answer any questions or concerns.
* Provide quality customer service to retain and enhance customer relationships.
* Facilitate profitable customer relationships through quality customer service, customer profiling and customer education regarding product features, benefits and requirements.
* Recognize critical situations and prioritize job functions as assigned by management.
* Understand specific types of accounts, their characteristics and be able to offer such accounts to qualified customers.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
* FINRA Series 7 and 63
* Series 24 required within first 12 months
* Minimum three years’ experience in the securities industry, preferably in the equities markets.
* Proficient computer skills (word processing, spread sheets, etc,)
* Strong telephonic customer service skills.
* Understanding of financial markets, individual securities and packaged products.
* Ability to change priorities quickly when market conditions dictate.
* Ability to grasp complicated products and/or customer issues and communicate appropriate responses.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a highly specialized team.

Requirements *DESKTOP SUPPORT FOR TRADERS AND BROKERS IS A MUST INCLUDING SUPPORTING BLOOMBERG
Required Skills: Certifications and Technology Requirements:
? Associates Degree in Science, related field or equivalent experience
? 3+ years IT Desktop Support experience providing support to traders/brokers
? Experience with Bloomberg is a must.
? Strong knowledge of Windows 2007, 2003,Windows XP, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, Blackberry.
? Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Technology, Exchange / Outlook Email applications
