  • Senior/Principal Market Analyst

    Senior/Principal Market Analystneeded for aninternational energy company with operations in 40 countries.

    * Provide on-desk analytical support to physical NGL and/or crude traders who are focused on North America, with a particular emphasis on the Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast markets
    * Build and/or maintain models to provide short and medium term analysis covering:

    -US domestic NGL markets and basis, interfaces to petrochemical and refinery sector, regional domestic supply demand/balances

    -US refining sector from individual refinery level up to nationwide, with particular emphasis on Cushing, broader Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast regions. Turnarounds (crude and secondary units), margins, and crude slates

    -US and western hemisphere product markets, with particular emphasis on impacts on refinery economics and crude markets

    -US nationwide, regional, and local crude and product supply, demand, import/export and inventory models
    o Provide regular (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc) analytical reports on above topics and any others requested by traders
    o Regularly communicate on the desk with traders to develop new tools to assist in growing their P&L and to determine which tools and written analysis are useful and which are not
    o Assists and participate in BDV projects (including M&A) where needed
    o Participate in global trader analysts video meetings aligning views
    o Participate in global trader analysts’ network

    * B.S. or B.A., Petroleum Engineering, Economics, or other industry-relevant field
    o 5+ years of experience analyzing markets within the Energy Industry
    o In-depth knowledge of US NGL, crude and product markets and previous experience with another oil company, trading organization, or relevant consultancy
    o Strong VBA/programming skills
    o Strong understanding of political economy of oil
    o MBA, MA, or MS in industry-relevant field preferred
    o Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (Proof sufficient to satisfy US immigration laws is a requirement of employment)
