Essential Functions
As the Risk Management Trader for Murphy USA, you will be responsible for price protecting the retail organization’s total inventory position while smoothing out market volatility of the monthly purchase plan.  Your previous technical expertise in the futures market will be a critical skill in this role.  You will evaluate the futures market for trends and trading opportunities.  You will execute all hedging strategies developed by the organization.  You will coordinate the futures book against the physical book to ensure all positions are offset.  You will evaluate other areas of the business where the futures market could be used to expand strategic growth.  You will be the expert trader, specializing in multiple commodity markets.  You will use futures, derivatives, and other financial tools for hedging deals.

Here’s what you need to join our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business field
• At least 3 years’ financial trading experience in Energy industry
• Demonstrated trading success on Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), Mercantile Exchange, or the NYMEX or other like trading environments
• Strong financial background with P&L management with high quantitative and analytical skills
• Proven understanding of economics, technical issues, and value analysis
• Must be proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Must have excellent presentation skills and comfort with presenting to all management levels
