    National company seeks a Derivatives Trading Assistant in Central New Jersey.

    Junior Associate
    The Derivatives Product Group is a part of the Treasurer’s Department.  They are responsible for developing derivative based solutions for the company and its subsidiaries that mitigate financial and market risks that can cause undesirable financial volatility.  Within that mandate, the group:

    • Serves as an enterprise wide advisor and clearing house for all over the counter derivatives, including global interest rate, equity index and foreign exchange transactions
    • Provides derivative based solutions in the creation of new or improved product offerings in the financial services market
    • Acts as a day to day risk manager for enterprise wide foreign exchange exposures
    • Develops and implements derivative based solutions for the enterprise’s capital protection program

    The candidate that is selected will work on the derivatives trading desk and will have the following job responsibilities:

    • Monitor global interest rate, equity index and foreign exchange markets, including the related option markets
    • Identify potential market opportunities and recommend appropriate trading strategies to senior traders
    • Implement trades, both for hedging and proprietary trades, under the supervision and guidance of senior traders
    • Generate daily risk reports which identify the subsidiary’s market risk
    • Produce end of day profit/loss reports that contain the subsidiary’s profitability

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Extremely strong quantitative and analytical aptitude
    • Demonstrated understanding of economic theory
    • An undergraduate degree from a highly competitive program
    • Progress towards an MBA and/or CFA
    • A clear passion for capital markets

    Position Purpose:  Provide a wide variety of administrative support for the Trade Desk Supervision department and its team members.
               
    Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

    • Processes daily and monthly reports using various systems such as SunGard BRASS, Valdi Trading Compliance (VTC), Bloomberg, FINRA report cards, OATS and ACT for review with the Trade Desk Supervisor.
    • Reviews reports thoroughly to ensure they are functional and accurate.
    • Maintains regulatory files and ensures each file is accurate and readily accessible.
    • Monitors the FINRA and SEC websites to keep abreast of regulatory changes that directly impact our business platforms (i.e., Global Equity Trading, Direct Market Access (DMA) and Fixed Income)
    • Gathers due diligence data for FINRA inquiries.
    • Completes ad hoc projects for the trading group.
    • Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
    • This list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed.

     Requirements
    Job Requirements:

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • 1-3 years of financial industry experience preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Emphasis on attention to details
    • Ability to take initiative in completing assigned tasks
    • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
    • Excellent organization and multitasking skills.

    Privately-held, boutique financial services organization based in Charlotte, NC. Company specializes in corporate, agency and municipal bonds, servicing both the dealer community and institutional markets.

    Responsibilities:

    This individual will serve as an assistant to the Head of the Municipal Bond Trading desk, and will be an instrumental part of the daily operations of that desk. They will work closely with the muni desk team (approximately 10 people), and will assist with providing professional execution and information dissemination to a large group of institutional clients of this group, which trades proprietarily in the secondary municipal market. The Sales Assistant will use Bloomberg Trade Order Management on a daily basis and prior experience with that platform is helpful. This individual will also be cross-trained in Operations to assist with needs as they arise.

    Requirements: (please do not apply if you do not meet the below requirements specifically listed below)

    – Must have significant experience working within sales and trading, and must have the ability to work at a fast pace and manage both proactively and reactively.

    – Must hold Series 7 and 63 licenses or must pass the exams within 6 months of becoming an employee of the Company. The individual must also pass any new qualification exams that are required by FINRA for operations professionals.

    Responsibilities

    –         Monitor cash positions
    –         Monitor security holdings
    –         Coordinate with back & middle office
    –         Monitor duration exposures
    –         Monitor cash flows
    –         Perform account maintenance
    –         Monitor intra-day holdings and control for net balance of Treasury bonds held in each

    This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a broker-dealer based as a Sales Assistant. They need an energetic, organized and upbeat Sales Assistant with a positive attitude to support sales and trading.  You will be working with about 6 sales and trading professionals as well as other operations staff in the office.  Position requires very careful attention to detail and the ability to juggle many responsibilities and special projects, including rapid and accurate client follow-up, planning meeting logistics, which include everything from marketing material assembly to ordering meals, as well as coordinating extensive travel, both domestic and international.  The pace can be hectic, but this is an environment where you will learn a lot and have fun while doing so.
