Senior Treasury Derivatives Analyst
This position enhances the Bank’s profitability and risk management by providing technical expertise and analytic support by:
· Supporting traders by evaluating trade opportunities and identifying potential risks and benefits. Makes recommendations on transaction structures to maximize economic benefits while minimizing related risks. Assists with the development of presentations and proposals for the Treasury Strategy Group and ALCO committees.
· Supporting the Director of Finance and the CFO in evaluating Bank wide interest rate risk and structuring responses. Synthesizes various model results and overlays transaction strategy analytics to generate actionable trade ideas for balance sheet management and income enhancement.
· Supporting the acquisition of low cost structured funding by performing economic and FAS 133 related analytics for the Treasury Department.
· Developing and validates the selection of parameters and methodologies used for trade and portfolio modeling, including Term structure models; Mortgage Prepayment Models; OAS; Portfolio Attribution; and Option Pricing.
· Performing market research and provides written recommendations to support portfolio management decisions including the development of pricing tools and derivative analytics.
· Developing and validates risk / return management models and the specific inputs related to trades under consideration. Develops and recommends stress scenarios and appropriate risk measures.
· Assisting in the quantification of credit and operational risk for the trading desk. Assists in the development of appropriate guidelines, policies and procedures for the Treasury department.
· Assisting with the development of new products/enhancements with embedded derivatives.
· Providing support to Asset/Liability, Treasury and Credit to achieve strategic objectives of the Bank.
Desired Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in finance, mathematics, statistics or a similar quantitative discipline. Advanced degree in a related field (MBA, CFA) strongly preferred.
· Five plus of experience in financial services modeling complex financial transactions and making trade recommendations.
· Experience with fixed income securities and interest rate derivatives. In-depth understanding of fixed income mathematics (derivatives models, probability theory, Monte Carlo Simulations, OAS, income simulation) with a proven track record of creating accurate models and results.
· Knowledge and understanding of Yield Curve models; mortgage prepayment models; OAS; Portfolio Attribution and/or Option Pricing is required. Direct experience with PolyPaths, Derivative Solutions, and/or QRM is highly desirable.
· Technical expertise modeling derivatives and the related economic and FAS 133 implications
· Superior analytical and communication skills are required. Position requires direct interaction with traders, strategists, senior managers and risk managers.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to function effectively under tight time deadlines.
· Highly proficient with Excel, Access, Bloomberg, and Trading Analytics software such as PolyPaths, Derivative Solutions, or QRM. Programming skills in C++, Java, VBA is a plus.

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Equity Derivatives Trader for our San Antonio, TX facility.
As a Senior Equity Derivatives Trader you will identify and execute options trades for various portfolios in accordance with portfolio strategy. Applies expert knowledge of equity option strategies (e.g., collars, straddles etc.) to determine appropriate buy/sell opportunities. Assists in developing various options hedging strategies. Ensures compliance with policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties:
* Identifies and executes options trades for various portfolios in accordance with portfolio strategy. Negotiates for best execution of trades. Maintains compliance with policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Maintains knowledge of and monitors the market and portfolio hedging positions to determine appropriate buy/sell opportunities.
* Interprets and communicates market activity to Portfolio Managers, including news items, current economic data, and trends and forecasts for possible market impact.
* Helps design various options hedging strategies and works closely with portfolio managers to assist in managing these strategies across multiple portfolios and mutual funds.
* Applies quantitative skills to research, analyze, and trend financial data.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
* 5 years trade execution experience.
* 3 years experience working within the equity derivatives area. 3 years experience working within the equity derivatives area.
* Expert knowledge of equity option strategies (e.g., collars, straddles etc.) and option pricing theory, including time value, Delta, Theta, Gamma, and Vega.
Preferred:
* Expert knowledge of equity option strategies.
* Bachelor’s degree in related field.
* High performance as evidenced in prior performance evaluation.

Responsibilities :
* Execute and make markets for product derivatives in the US and related arbs in the form of basis values, cracks and time spreads for their own book as well as the physical book needs for the Global Trading Network
* Work closely with the OTC products traders and NYMEX execution traders to provide back up and desk coverage as needed
* Ensure that the service requests & flow of information to internal clients are managed in a timely, efficient & often creative manner while managing existing trading positions and seeking new opportunities for proprietary trading
* Handle a range of derivatives instruments (futures, swaps & options) through a number of different markets (futures markets, over the counter, E-Trading platforms) in order to provide adequate coverage during absences as well as creating an environment where all team members are able to actively participate in formulation of the team’s trading strategy
* Work with a Highly disciplined trading approach – Market making ability in illiquid markets with risk appetite
* Position demands the ability to handle the inevitable conflicts that arise as a result of operating as a Regional team within a Global context, and providing customer support while identifying & managing proprietary trading opportunities.
Requirements Requirements :
* Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a fulltime basis for anyone other then current employer
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Minimum three years experience in derivatives trading
* Demonstrated experience managing price exposure
* Proven success of OTC derivatives trading and product commodities such as fuel oil, gasoline’s and distillates
