    Department Overview Equity Derivatives Technology (EDT) provides IT development and support for the Equity Derivatives business. Equity Derivatives covers a variety of business lines, including Arbitrage, Volatility, Exotics, Fund Linked derivative and Convertible Bond trading. Trading desks are currently in London, New York and Hong Kong with Sales in offices worldwide. Equity Derivatives is a vibrant and exciting business which is undergoing spectacular growth in terms of trading volumes, global coverage, the breadth of product coverage and the revenue it generates for the firm. It is a relatively young business area in Barclays Capital and has grown up in close partnership with IT.

    Equity Derivatives Technology currently has ~ 300 staff across London, New York and Singapore. The role is focused in the listed options space, where we are building out a platform for sales-trader interaction, order management, exchange connectivity supporting the front office derivatives trading and sales function.

    Main FunctionThe business analyst role will involve analysis of requirements for small, medium and large projects covering front, middle and back office users around listed options execution, order management, and settlement. In addition to facing-off with the business users, there will be extensive involvement with technical teams based in New York, so a technical background or appreciation of technical issues would of benefit. The BA will bridge the development teams that span across order management, exchange + broker connectivity, algorithmics, and trade reporting.

    Main Duties

    The candidate will be facing off to key stakeholders in trading, sales, operations, and compliance for requirements gathering and project management. Within IT, he/she will be working with the multiple development teams to ensure scope is clear and achievable, test plans are comprehensive, and milestones are known and tracked. Dependency management and issue resolution is vital. As a senior BA/PM, he/she is expected to also act in consultative manner at times when new initiatives come up to steer them in the right direction.

    * All aspects of project work, including analysis, requirements gathering, design, testing and deployment
    * Helping to design solutions that fit with the strategic direction of the group, making use of current components
    * Delivery to the business and handover to the support team.
    * To deliver to tight project plans, recognizing needs around testing, integration and delivery of software
    * Creation of quality functional specifications and working closely with the developers in the creation of technical specs
    * Mapping of as-is and to-be processes, use cases and full test and migrations strategies
    * Working with the users on UAT planning and liaison with the user base during the UAT

    Person Requirements

    Basic Qualification

    * Bachelors Degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    * Strong understanding listed options sales-trader interaction, order management, exchange and broker dealings, compliance, etc.
    * Full Business Analysis development lifecycle experience, working within IT, with proven delivery record and an ability to work in a demanding environment. Experience of global project deliveries
    * Capable of producing functional specifications that drive change, cross functional project plans
    * Experience of working with traders, sales and operations functions
    * Strong written, verbal, reasoning analytical and inter-personal skills
    * Experience with MS Visio, Project, Excel, SharePoint as well as testing (e.g. Quality Center) and knowledge sharing tools (e.g. Confluence wiki)
    * Ideally with some Project management and business analysis training

    Responsibilities :

    * Will be the main market interface for the group with the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) for executing Crude Oil options mandates
    * Responsible for making markets to other trading books across the network (both crude and products,as well as the Risk Marketing businesses) in Crude oil Options,and,where appropriate,to third parties. Integral to this position is the engagement in proprietary trading of these instruments on their own book,deriving advantage from the flow that passes through this team
    * Ensure the appropriate options valuation tools are built and utilized. The options business will sit within the FFUSA book and will be expected to contribute significantly to this teams financial performance
    * Develop market and competitor intelligence and forge strong customer relationships with your trading partners
    * Responsible to enter your trades into the IT system and to ensure that they are accurately reflected in daily PnL/exposure reports

    Requirements Requirements :

    * Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other then current employer
    * Bachelor’s Degree Required – Mathematics or Engineering discipline preferred
    * Minimum three years experience as an Options Trader preferably energy paper and options
    * Experience in developing and using options pricing models
    * Proven track record of proprietary trading.
    * Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines, often with conflicting pressures and will therefore be able to help maintain highest standards of excellence and clear focus on the bottom line
