Iberdrola Renewables is seeking a Senior Energy Trader in Portland, Oregon. Responsibilities include:
* Trade short-term physical and financial power focusing on the Midwest & Northeast.
* Lend commercial leadership to the Company’s development and origination activities to expand the company’s power portfolio.
* Assist Real Time Desk and support personnel in power trading group.
* Develop and manage hedging strategies for corporate assets.
* Manage individual proprietary trading book.
* Adhere to internal controls.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years of power trading experience.
* Ability to model intra-day and next day pricing and load to devise strategies.
* Familiarity with LIM or other price data warehouse.
* Ability to self-motivate and create opportunities.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to solve problems and explain the ideas that underlie them.
* Quick learning curve with the ability to receive, process, and transact on information.
* Proven ability to understand market conditions and to identify arbitrage opportunities.
* PC proficiency, especially with Excel, and experience with automated tools to support trading activity.
* Ability to travel as needed for the position.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
* Experience with PJM & MISO market.
