JOB SUMMARY Responsible for expanding and deepening customer relationships by identifying customers’ needs comprehensively and matching their needs with selections and resources within the colleague’s assigned business line and across all business lines of Associated Bank. Under limited supervision, manage a portfolio of complex professional service firm and practice Private Banking and Commercial relationships to ensure retention and expansion of existing client relationship; grow total client assets and enable the net growth in relationships. Primary performance responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests and recommend structure, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other deposits services. As a Portfolio Manager, this position will maintain and build loans and deposits, fee income and referrals of business.     JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

     1. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.
    2. Manage Private Banking and Commercial relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship.
    3. Partner with the Relationship Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the department, the assistants and other internal business partners.
    4. Provide financial advice and counsel to clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends.
    5. Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. Assumes overall responsibility for the credit quality of the loan portfolio.
    6. Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank’s Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.
    7. Manage the renewal process by working with the Relationship Manager the client and the credit department.
    8. Will prepare credit presenations both for existing and prospective borrowers to assist in the underwriting process. Determine the borrowers’ repayment ability as well as the Bank’s collateral position. Suggest an asset quality rating based on relationship review. Compile an accurate relationship profitability analysis as directed by corporate policy.
    9. Responsible for identifying cross sales opportunities of all bank services, especially non-borrowing services; Capital Market (SWAP) enhancements; P&C, Life and Group Health Insurance; Treasury Management; International Banking; Commercial Banking; Trust; Retirement Plan Services to our existing client base as well as prospects.
    10. Prepare the monthly asset quality reporting in addition to the review of new commercial loans to ensure the proper loan documents are in place, in compliance with governing laws and regulations and loan policy. Oversee and coordinate quarterly Criticized asset review meetings with an assigned region.
    11. Prepare Private Banking performance relative to portfolio administration through the use of various monthly and quarterly reports such as past due loans, maturing loans, annual reviews, documentation exceptions, etc. Report results to Private Banking Underwriting Review Manager.
    12. Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the region’s marketplace.
    13. Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws.

    Requirements
    JOB SPECIFICATIONS Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience Preferred Education MBA Minimum Experience
    Portfolio Manager level I:  3-5 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking experience.
    Solid credit skills
    Solid knowledge of non-borrowing products
    Sales experience

    Portfolio Manager level II:  5-7 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking experience
    Strong credit skills
    Strong knowledge of non-borrowing products
    Experience in sales and presentations

    Portfolio Manager level III:  7-10 years Private Banking or Commercial Banking experience
    Extensive credit skills handling the largest and most complex credits
    Thorough knowledge of non-borrowing products
    Extensive experience in presentations
    Sales experience

    Ability to mentor less experienced portfolio managersJob Requirements Adherence to Company policy and procedures is required. Perform duties in accordance with the Vision & Values of Associated Banc-Corp. Regular attendance is required. Basic math and reading skills, and attention to detail. Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, “fax” machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, typewriter, computers etc.). Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner. Excellent at Customer Service Assists Private Banking Group Managers, Relationship Managers, Credit Manager and Underwriting Review Manager In-depth knowledge of lending policies and procedures Detailed knowledge of loan agreements, assumptions, accounting, loan structuring, and collateral procedures. In depth understanding of non-borrowing products. Understand macro and micro economic issues as they apply to business. Thorough understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc) as it applies to the lending process. Possess good marketing and presentation skills. Ability to review and analyze financial data in detail and draw logical conclusions. Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, ratio analysis and variance and sensitivity analysis. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal bank staff and external clients, prospects and other professionals. Ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner. Loan authority per the Policy. Travel Occasional travel.

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    The Portfolio Compliance Analyst will assist the Chief Compliance Officer in implementing controls and monitoring the activities of the Firm to ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
    JOB FUNCTIONS
    Portfolio Compliance
    • Perform daily reviews to ensure client guidelines are being properly followed;
    • Enter new client, regulatory or other guidelines into Bloomberg CMGR;
    • Create and maintain guideline spreadsheets for portfolio manager and trader use;
    • Respond to client reporting requirements regarding guideline adherence; and
    • Produce reports for affiliated and sub-advised mutual fund boards of trustees.
    Anti-Money Laundering
    • Implement and monitor controls designed to meet applicable anti-money laundering (AML) regulations;
    • Interact with clients, including affiliated and sub-advised mutual funds, regarding AML requirements;
    • Produce reports demonstrating AML compliance; and
    • Respond to internal and external questions regarding AML compliance.
    Advertising
    • Review and assist in production of client service and external marketing materials.
     Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting;
    • 2-4 years portfolio compliance experience at an SEC registered investment advisor;
    • Knowledge of automated portfolio compliance systems, especially the ability to set up rules;
    • Knowledge of applicable SEC rules for investment companies, such as leverage, liquidity, diversification and concentration;
    • Knowledge and experience with anti-money laundering laws and regulations;
    • Writing and quantitative skills sufficient to prepare a wide variety of reports for clients, industry consultants and internal users; and
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Word and Excel; knowledge of Access a plus.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Fixed income experience, particularly with mortgage-backed and emerging markets securities;
    • Knowledge of Bloomberg’s CMGR system;
    • Knowledge of regulatory investment restrictions imposed by ERISA; and
    • Experience with advertising review for an investment advisor.

    Los Angeles, California, USA preferred, flexible to New York.  The role is likely to involve significant travel: the successful candidate must be prepared to spend about 50% of their time traveling.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have five to ten years’ experience in the investment management industry with at least 3 years specific experience with alternative investments including hedge funds.  Prior marketing experience is a plus.  Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.  Successful SPMs must display:
    • Deep and broad knowledge of capital markets including equity, fixed income, real estate, private equity, currency and commodities
    • Broad understanding of alternative investment strategies including the full array of both hedge fund strategies and private equity
    • Successful achievement of results in a complex, team-based environment
