    Job Summary:

    Under general supervision, uses intermediate level knowledge and skills obtained through experience and/or training to provide support in specific trading activities within an assigned functional area. Follows established procedures to perform routine tasks and receives guidance and direction to perform other work with more variety and complexity requiring limited decision making responsibility. Resolves most questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Receives and communicates orders to appropriate trading personnel.
    * Identifies and notifies traders of events that effect orders, including dividend declarations and stock splits.
    * Provides and coordinates pricing information until the order has been executed, cancelled or expired.
    * Ensures that trades are executed and confirmed in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
    * Provides support to facilitate the price adjustment and trade correction process.
    * Reconciles the open order file.
    * Assists in researching trade problems and suggests appropriate corrective action.
    * Contacts internal and external customers to resolve trading problems.
    * Sets up and monitors client information and restrictions.
    * Updates and maintains trade data and information in required databases.
    * Supports the comparison and portfolio allocation process.
    * Accepts, screens and routes telephone calls and maintains record of inquiries, as required.
    * Maintains currency in trading polices and procedures.
    * Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
    * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    * Industry regulations related to trading activities.
    * Concepts, practices and procedures of securities trading.
    * Basic accounting principles and procedures.
    * Front-end system used in assigned functional area and its relationship with account history.
    * Mathematical procedures required to verify and reconcile trading transactions.

    Skill in:

    * Identifying financial events that effect orders
    * Reconciling and correcting transactions.
    * Updating and maintaining information systems.
    * Handling a high volume phone system.
    * Operating standard office equipments and using required software applications, sufficient to create documents, spreadsheets, and business correspondence.

    Ability to:

    * Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
    * Read, interpret, analyze and apply transaction information.
    * Analyze and solve problems.
    * Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with associates, and internal and external customers.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
    High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in the financial services industry.

    ~Experience / knowledge writing Trading strategies – Short duration, liquidity seeking smart order routing strategies and longer duration benchmark algorithms.
    ~Architect, design, develop, and deploy a state of the art multi-asset Global Electronic Trading platform
    ~Maintain existing Electronic Trading components
    ~Work close with key business and technology partners
    ~Position is in RBC Capital Markets Electronic Trading Group – a challenging, fast paced, highly rewarding, growth area of the firm
    ~Manages relationships with the various heads of the electronic trading business to align IT strategy with business strategy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

    Requirements MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: * Understand all aspects of equity and mutual fund trading, including stop orders, limit orders, market orders, GTC orders, margin requirements, and option orders. * Ability to work in a stressful environment, meet deadlines, and service accounts with high attention to detail. * Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills. * Ability to multi-task. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong math and organizational skills. * PC literacy with proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Products, especially Excel. * Understanding of quote systems required. * Four-year college degree with business, accounting or related discipline.     Basic Purpose:
