    Role:

    The Application Development Manager will lead a team responsible for the application development of software for an enterprise-wide Imaging and Workflow system. The Application Development Manager is empowered to establish and implement standards and practices to ensure the highest degree of software quality. They work with application development management and staff to ensure adequate, proactive involvement of application development staff with software development teams. The Application Development Manager works to deliver project results and value to the business and its clients. The Application Development Manager demonstrates knowledge of all phases of software development life cycle. Reports to a Director or Sr. Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure project teams are staffed with appropriate resources at the time of inception
    Ensure the Application Development staff is engaged throughout software development lifecycle
    Evaluate developer performance on a quarterly basis and recommend training where required
    Work with Architecture, Engineering, & QA to ensure application designs conform to accepted standards.
    Oversee the support and development activities related to the development of one or more internal systems
    Partner with QA, Architecture, Engineering and Project Management groups on all development activities
    Oversee and set the direction for the organization, ensuring reliable software with minimal bugs
    Establish and track metrics related to key performance objectives and service levels
    Stay current with technology and industry best practices to ensure that skill set/knowledge base remains broad and current
    Evaluate performance on a quarterly basis and recommend training where required
    Oversee the implementation of process and procedural improvements
    Develop, implement and enforce best practices and operating standards
    Identify and escalate potential concerns related to project initiatives and recommend viable solutions
    Ensure compliance with established industry rules, regulations TD AMERITRADE policies/procedures and best practices
    Forecasting resourcing & staffing needs and effectively utilizing all available resources

    Requirements Requirements:

    4 year degree in Computer Science or related experience and prior experience as a software developer
    Must have Application Development management experience with 5 staff preferred
    5 years leading IT organizations in a fast-paced application development environment
    Demonstrated use and knowledge of various quality programs/standards (TQM, ISO, etc.)
    Experience should include a strong understanding of brokerage services particularly as they relate to back office operations
    Up to 10% travel
    Strong communication skills
    Ability to influence others
    IBM’s FileNet Imaging and Workflow including P8 (Process Engine and Content Engine) and older versions (eProcess and Image Services)
    Tritek’s Trans@ction Express as front end web application
    Kofax Image Scanning including Kofax Capture, Ascent Capture, Recognition and Release
    IBM’s FileNet Process Analyzer for reporting
    Crystal Reports for reporting
    Rightfax for fax communication with Imaging and Workflow
    Familiarity with SQL server, EMC Centera for storage, and web services for integration with internal systems
