Role:
The Fixed Income Sales Teams (FIS) are a part of the Investor Solutions Group in Retail Distribution. The teams are comprised of highly skilled fixed income professionals who work in conjunction with TD Ameritrade’s retail distribution channels including: Branches, National Branch and Investor Services to service and deepen relationships with TD Ameritrade (TDA) clients and prospects with fixed income needs.
The Fixed Income Specialist is responsible for consulting with clients on their fixed income product and/or services needs. In addition, the Specialists will identify and qualify high potential fixed income clients ‘bond buyers’ to the Regional Desk.
The Fixed Income Specialist is also responsible for consulting with clients and uncovering referrals opportunities to other TD Ameritrade departments, such as Advice referrals to the Branches and National Branch
These activities will require a strong knowledge of the securities industry particularly fixed income securities, portfolio management theory, TD Ameritrade’s products and services and the ability to effectively identify & qualify high potential fixed income clients, determining their fixed income needs and recommending the appropriate fixed income solutions for their portfolios.
Responsibilities:
Effectively manage a client base, ensuring that all clients receive the proper attention and response
Provides high quality service to clients to attract and retain client assets and accounts
Has a full range of knowledge on TD Ameritrade’s more complex Fixed Income products and services and applies effective sales skills in client interactions
Expands and deepens the client relationship by extending the entire product line while using an effective consulting approach
Effectively partners with the Fixed Income Inbound team, service partners, and branch IC’s to strengthen the client relationship
Receive inbound calls and provide a quality client experience
Perform advice referrals on a variety of investment products and services
Utilize technology to serve clients in a rapidly changing environment
Requirements
Consulting and sales experience in fixed income securities preferred
Series 7, 66 or 65 registrations
Minimum of two years experience in a financial service sales team position
Must be self-motivated with an outgoing personality and work well in a team setting
Outstanding communication, listening, relationship building and negotiating skills
Possess the ability to excel in a competitive, fast paced environment
Capable of quickly building good rapport with clients, assessing their needs and presenting features and benefits of Ameritrade’s products and services
The ability to work independently with a high degree of quality
Well-developed communication skills with an assertive and dynamic personality are essential
Must be self-motivated and client service oriented
Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure while remaining focused
Primary areas of responsibility will require a high level of knowledge regarding TD Ameritrade products and services, policies and procedures, and new accounts
General knowledge of the securities industry
Superior building and sales skills
General account management skills
Understand the basic principles of equity, option and mutual fund transactions
Able to quickly learn and then instruct on the utilization of numerous complex systems and databases
Capable of troubleshooting basic PC problems and understand system interfaces
A thorough understanding of the Internet, web navigation and Windows operating systems
Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
