As a Secondary Marketing Financial Analyst II you will apply a sophisticated set of financial, mathematical, computer, and business skills to develop financial models used for valuation, hedging, accounting, and strategic decision-making for financial instruments. Works under general supervision with appreciable latitude for actions and decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
# Designs and implements financial models.
# Tests and maintains financial models.
# Asks insightful questions and understands the business significance of results.
# Analyzes data and business questions, as required.
# Provides assistance, information, and support to Capital Markets and Mortgage Banking staff, including financial analysts, traders, technology professionals, and senior management.
# Manages significant aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and initiative to complete.
# Formulates requirements for software to be created by the Information Technology Department.
# Interacts with other departments within the bank such as Corporate Accounting, Information Technology, Operations, Internal Audit, and Corporate Risk Management.
# Participates in decision-making with regard to loan sales, best execution, servicing sales, hedging, capital management, and asset and liability management.
# Performs statistical analyses.
# Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
# Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or related field.
# Graduate degree, preferred
# Demonstrated progress toward Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.
# Minimum three (3) years experience in financial analysis for candidate with a graduate degree in related field.
# Minimum five (5) years experience in financial analysis for candidate with a bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
# Knowledge of financial theory.
# Mathematics background, including calculus, statistics, and linear algebra.
# Knowledge of mortgage banking.
# Computer literate with a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
# Some background and experience with computer programming.
# Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills.
# Detail oriented.
# Exercises sound judgment.
# Self-directed and able to take responsibility for important work tasks.
# Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to customer information and employee records.
