Assist established partnership in full-service brokerage/advisory firm in overseeing fixed-income needs for high-net worth client base. Position entails working with advisors and corporate traders, as well as having direct communication with clients.
General Responsibilities Include:
Working with Advisors and traders
* Review inventory daily, seeking appropriate securities (taxable and tax-exempt) with appropriate quantities. Organize inquiries and efficiently communicate to appropriate traders.
* Help oversee all discretionary bond accounts: monitor cash balances as well as reinvest maturing bonds.
* Work with advisors on client parameters to establish appropriate portfolio. Assist with maintaining client specifications (e.g. specific cash balance, future liquidity needs).
* Assist in reviewing portfolios to ensure adherence to investment guidelines.
* Responsible for reviewing underlying credit ratings for issues. Careful, continual review of current positions is necessary to ensure continual compliance.
* Will also be responsible for specific requests/projects, such as: calculating portfolio durations or detailing yield analysis, compiling maturity schedules, comparing yields for most beneficial, etc.
* Place and allocate orders daily, and respond to liquidity requests efficiently and quickly.
Working with Clients
* Work directly with clients on specific requests. Must be able to independently answer questions of a sophisticated nature.
* Must be able to recommend fixed-income products to retail clients and convey basis for recommendation.
* Assist with client inquiries regarding fixed-income questions, following up appropriately and quickly.
Requirements
Qualifications
Individual must be able to perform in an extremely fast-paced environment, while working with necessary attention to detail and accuracy. Individual must be able to multi-task and prioritize, and maintain/update task list.
This position requires the following:
* A four-year college degree
* Five to ten years related-job experience
* Series 7 license
* An expert knowledge of fixed-income products and operations, including Bloomberg experience
* Time management skills and ability to remain calm under stress of deadlines
* Good sense of need for confidentiality and tact
